Why do you need/want sales Affiliates?
I am no longer active on the web or in photographic communities. I need the help of those who may know large groups of people to give the book the best possible exposure. I have been heads-down-working for five years and have not made any attempts at networking.
You're giving away half your money?
Yep! This is about an average commission for an affiliate marketer. Some authors give away more than 75% of their sales price. I can afford to do this because aside from my $5.00 shopping cart fee, the revenue from sales is 100% profit.
Are there any quotas?
No. You are free to sell as many books or as few as you want. No pressure or prodding from me and I will not "check in" with you to see how "sales efforts are going."
Do you know about each sale I make?
Yes. All transaction, customer and sales information comes to me only. This is done for simplicity and to keep all the records in one place.
What is required of me?
Simply to provide a space for the purchase buttons and the information found on this page and this page. Aside from setting up the buttons, you are required to do nothing and you assume no risk whatsoever. You are not required (or allowed) to purchase inventory to have on hand. And you are not required to purchase anything in order to sell my book. If you want to sell a lot of books, however, you should advertise.
Can I display only the purchase buttons?
No, sorry. I need some space on your page. The text found at the bottom of this page must always accompany the purchase buttons. This is a real financial transaction and the customer is paying a lot of money for a nontangible item. They need to know all the terms of the transaction.
How long does it take to process a sale and deliver the download link to the customer?
When I receive email notification of a sale, I process the order immediately and this takes five minutes or less. I cannot stay glued to my computer so sometimes it takes a little while to receive notification of a sale. I try to process all orders within an hour as stated on my website.
Do I need to have sales and marketing materials approved?
No, but all marketing materials should be tastefully designed and presented to your visitors, and they need to be compliant with the Agreement you will sign. All email campaigns need to be compliant with the US FTC CAN-SPAM Act or you could be in big trouble.
As a sales Affiliate do I have access to the book or the PayPal account?
No. If a customer has a question or problem about the book or the financial side of the transaction, they are directed to myself and I will assist them. This is done for simplicity purposes and to maintain control of all records.
I am essentially trusting you to pay me, and I have no control, is this right?
Yes. But I'm a very honest person. I don't cheat people and I don't steal. I don't need that on my conscience. I do it this way for simplicity reasons, control and efficiency. In addition, I will always be willing to share PayPal's sales reports which contain uneditable records of the book's activity.
Are you available for questions, help and support?
Of course. I sleep five hours a night and work the rest of the time. I'm always here and you are always welcome to contact me.
Can my visitors contact you with questions about the book?
Any time. And if they purchase the book through my site, you'll get the commission. They have to tell me where they came from, however, in order for you to get credit.
I know someone who wants to buy the book but I'm not an Affiliate yet, can I get a commission on this sale?
Yep! You have to sign up as an Affiliate first, however, and this includes placing all the materials and information for the book on your website, as well as the purchase buttons. The customer would then use your buttons to make the purchase. How long this process takes is up to you and my availability to provide you with the HTML code for the buttons.
Why do you maintain control of my payments and sales records? Why not set up an Affiliate Program?
I can't make use of most of the features of an automated Affiliate program. This is the most streamlined process for this type of transaction. Basically, the system cannot be automated because each book is individually passworded and processed.
There is really no obligation, cost or risk for me?
Nothing whatsoever. All you do is display the book's information, drive traffic to the page and get your customers to click those buttons when they want to buy the book!
